Before Your Reiki Class

Once you've made the decision to take your Reiki Training, there are a few things that will make your class time more productive.

1. Read some books (or websites) on the basics of Reiki - how it works, what it's like, and what you can do with it. This will build your knowledge and give you reference points that will trigger questions that you can ask during class.

2. Be sure to get enough sleep before the class. A clouded mind and a sleep deprived body are no way to start a day off right. Giving yourself the right amount of sleep, and planning for a slow paced and introspective day are your best bet to get the most out of your class experience.

3. Write down what's important to you! Write down any questions you have about Reiki, and about what you've heard or read. Also, examine your goals in getting involved with Reiki... not that you need to publicly share them, but knowing your goal(s) will keep you on-track during the class so that you will get out of it exactly what you're looking for.

4. Be sure you have a 'good vibe' about your instructor... that you've talked or emailed with them and they are open to your questions. Also, ensure that they are as excited about your class as you are :) This is a life changing experience - and can be a very powerful and sacred experience for you.

5. Come to class prepared to have Fun! Sure, there may be some book work and traditional lecture to get through, but there is also the Hands-On practice of Doing Reiki! And, that's where whole new worlds are opened up for you. A whole new awareness begins - once you open to the Flow of Reiki Energy.

Also, plan to be 10 minutes early... to sit and talk with your instructor and fellow students... this is a time of forming new friendships!

- What To Expect in A Reiki Class -

Usually Reiki Classes combine Lecture with Hands-On Practice. This includes working with a volunteer on a massage table, to practice sensing the energy of the person, to practice the Reiki Hand Positions, to practice the Reiki Techniques of this particular Reiki Level, and to spend time in the Energy of Reiki - enhancing your Sensing Faculties and sensitivities.
